We can attribute this difference to several factors, most notably: cold and warm blood, habitat, age, size.  Brain, body size, diet, environment, in addition to the safety of the sleeping site. Accordingly, we will mention to you the following the most prominent animals that prefer to sleep on the surface of the Earth:

 1- Koala animal:

The koala is one of the most sleepy animals, living in New South Wales, coastal areas of Queensland, and open eucalyptus forests, Tasmania. Its characteristics include:

 Scientific name: Phascolarctos cinereus

 it has a big head.

 its nose is spoon-shaped.

 Koalas have delicate ears.

 Doesn’t have a tail.

 Its weight ranges between 4 and 14 kg.

 Koalas’ length ranges between 61-84 cm.

 its diet depends on eating eucalyptus leaves, which take time to produce energy and digest.

 Koalas sleep deeply for 14 hours, and sleep for 5 hours of relaxation.

 It belongs to the marsupial bear family.

 2- Sloth:

 This animal is found in tropical forests. It belongs to the mammals that are characterized by their slow movement within the trees. It should be noted that it has 3 toes and rests on the branches upside down. We also rarely see it moving on the ground for fear of predatory animals that consider it an easy catch because of its extreme slowness.  It is worth noting that he sleeps 20 hours a day.

 3- Armadillo:

 This sleeping animal lives in warm and temperate places, and we see it widely in North and South America in the grassy and semi-desert areas. It is one of the creatures that hates the cold. It uses burrows built by other animals as its home. It sleeps deeply for up to 19 hours a day, and it is worth noting that it  It depends on ants, beetles, and termites for its food, and it also feeds on small vertebrates.

 4- Opossum:

 The Opossum lives in forests, cities, and fields. What distinguishes it most is that it pretends to be dead when it senses danger. It carries its young in a bag attached to its stomach. Its body is covered with long light gray hair, followed by a layer of soft fur. This gentle creature sleeps 19 hours a day.

 5- Lemur:

 This animal feeds on fruits and tree leaves. It is widely spread on the island of Madagascar. It should be noted that the term lemur is derived from (Lemures), which means ghosts or spirits and comes from Roman mythology. It sleeps approximately 16 hours a day.

 6- Night monkeys:

 Night monkeys, also known as night monkeys, are one of the creatures that are active at night and are rarely seen during the day, as they make their homes in holes in forest trees during the day. They have 10 species spread in South and Central America. They feed on fruits, insects, and tree leaves, and their sleep period reaches 17 hours.  daily.

 It is one of the mouse-like animals. Its survival period does not exceed 2 or 3 years. We see it widely in America. It is known for having pockets in the mouth that it uses to store food. People want to raise it greatly because of its gentleness, in addition to its weak immunity, meaning that it does not transmit  Infection: The hamster is a nocturnal creature that sleeps during the day and wakes up at night, as its sleep period reaches 14 hours a day.

 9- Squirrel:

 This intelligent animal lives in Asia, America, and Europe, and we also notice the presence of its subspecies in Africa. Some of these squirrels live on the ground by digging tunnels to protect them from enemies, while others live on forest trees, especially pine trees, and sleep about 13 to 14 hours a day.

 Cat: This pet, which has different shapes according to the breed it belongs to, has the skill of hunting, especially catching mice. It usually sleeps between 11 and 12 hours a day.
