Why do cats purr

Purring is one of the most important sounds made by many animals, especially cats. It is a soft and quiet sound made by a cat when it feels comfortable and happy. Sometimes cats use it to express pain and fatigue. It is also a way for a cat to calm itself down from anxiety and stress. Therefore, it is a versatile sound that expresses many of the feelings of cats. This sound may be a sign of pleasure, and it contributes to relaxing the cat’s muscles, activating its bones, and making them active and growing rapidly. Thus, this sound has become a means of survival because it helps in rapid growth and recovery from diseases. A single cat purrs at a frequency ranging from 25 to 150 Hz per day.

When is purring a sign of a health problem?
